Wine on Wayzata Bay is a delicious fundraiser for the Wayzata Community Sailing Center (WCSC). The WCSC is a place for people of all ages to learn to sail and continue to enhance their skills. The Wayzata Yacht Club shares the shoreline with the WCSC and they have partnered to build a strong sailing community. Every year the Wayzata Yacht Club and WCSC host this event to raise money for WCSC’s new building and boats.
This year they will be allowing VIP ticket holders to tour the recently finished new boathouse! This boathouse was built and named after sailor Mike Plant who began his sailing career racing on Lake Minnetonka and later became America’s premier single-handed sailor racing 60-foot open-class yachts around the world. This new sailing center is a beautiful monument for a passionate sailor who’s fund has continued to allow other young people to sail. In order to keep this legacy alive and this community alive, all the proceeds of the Wine of Wayzata Bay event go directly to the WCSC.
Your ticket purchase will include wine, food, and a cruise on a sailboat captained by a WCSC student. You’ll also have the opportunity to bid on some very cool auction items. You can’t miss this heartwarming experience for a good cause and a better community.
