Things to Do Around Lake Minnetonka This Weekend: August 22–23, 2026
There are still plenty of summer weekends left to enjoy around Lake Minnetonka, and this one has a little bit of everything. Whether you're looking for live music, a morning at the farmers market, something active on the lakefront or just an excuse to spend the afternoon outside, here are a few things happening around the lake this weekend.
Harvest by the Harbor at Back Channel Brewing
Saturday, August 22 | 12–6 p.m. | Spring Park
Back Channel Brewing is hosting Harvest by the Harbor on Saturday afternoon. The lakeside event will feature food, live music and family-friendly activities, making it an easy stop if you want to spend a summer afternoon along the western side of Lake Minnetonka.
Back Channel is right on the water in Spring Park, so this is also a good option to work into a day of boating or exploring the lake.
Mound Farmers Market & More
Saturday, August 22 | 8 a.m.–12:30 p.m. | Mound
Start Saturday morning at the Mound Farmers Market & More. The weekly market features locally grown produce, meats, eggs, maple syrup, flowers, baked goods and handmade products from local vendors and artisans. The market runs Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. through October 10.
It's a relaxed way to start the weekend and pairs perfectly with a coffee and a drive along Shoreline Drive.
Jeremy Messersmith at 318 Cafe
Saturday, August 22 | 8 p.m. | Excelsior
Sunday, August 23 | 7 p.m. | Excelsior
For live music in downtown Excelsior, Minnesota singer-songwriter Jeremy Messersmith is playing two nights at 318 Cafe. Saturday's show runs from 8–10 p.m., with a second performance Sunday from 7–9 p.m. Tickets are listed at $50.
318 is an intimate listening-room venue right on Water Street, so you could easily make an evening of it with dinner, a walk through downtown Excelsior and music afterward.
Rooftop Pilates & Prosecco at 6Smith
Sunday, August 23 | 9–11 a.m. | Wayzata
Sunday morning starts on the rooftop at 6Smith with a lakeside Pilates class led by instructors from Hola Yoga. The morning includes a 50-minute Pilates flow overlooking Lake Minnetonka, followed by drinks on the rooftop and a three-course brunch downstairs. Just remember to bring your own mat.
If your ideal Sunday involves a workout followed immediately by brunch and a view of the lake, this one checks all three boxes.
Sunday Music in the Park in Wayzata
Sunday, August 23 | 4:30–6 p.m. | Wayzata Great Lawn
Wrap up the weekend with live music along Wayzata Bay. The city's Sunday Music in the Park series continues on the Great Lawn across from Hotel Landing, with the Power of 10 Quartet performing this Sunday from 4:30–6 p.m.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket, grab something to eat downtown and enjoy one of those late-summer evenings that makes Lake Minnetonka such a great place to be.
Make a Day of It
Even if you don't have a specific event in mind, this is a great weekend to spend some time around the lake. Walk the lakefront in Wayzata, browse the shops along Water Street in Excelsior, stop for lunch or dinner on a patio, or get out on the water while Minnesota summer is still here.
From a Saturday morning farmers market to Sunday afternoon music by the lake, there are plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy Lake Minnetonka this weekend.
Event schedules and availability can change, so it's always a good idea to confirm details with the organizer before heading out.
