The James J Hill Days Festival is a three-day event celebrating James J Hill himself! This historic man once owned the Great Northern Railroad Company and built Wayzata’s Train Depot in 1906. He built Wayzata from the ground up making it the town it is today. To celebrate James J Hill, Wayzata holds a free 3-day festival with a carnival, fireworks, concerts, boat rides, and more! We listed the times and dates of some of our favorite events below. Besides these events there is a dog park, eat street, rails & ales, log rolling, and a street market.

Parade- Sunday from 2-3:30pm
Live Music- Friday from 5:30-9:30pm, Saturday from noon-9:45pm, and Sunday from 10:30am-2pm
Car Show- Friday from 5-9pm
Movie on the Lawn- Friday at 8pm (Movie; E.T.)
Coaster Cart Derby- Saturday from 10am-2pm
Fireworks- Saturday at 8:45pm
Steamboat- Saturday and Sunday on the hour from 10am-5pm ($5/ride)
