This western suburb is on the move. Chanhassen, its name derived from the Dakota words meaning "sugar maple tree," sprung up in the 1850s in what was once wide-open farmland to become a fast-growing community. Perhaps best known as the home of Prince’s Paisley Park recording studio, Chanhassen is also famous for the Chanhassen Dinner Theater, where actress Amy Adams and other notables have taken to the stage.
